Dog Park Receives 100K from 4B Board

New Braunfels, TX – On Wednesday, March 19th the New Braunfels Parks Foundation announced the award of a $100,000 grant from the New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (NBIDC), commonly known as the 4B Board, to assist in the construction of phase one of the off-leash dog park at the West Loop Park.

New Braunfels Puppy Playland, a part of the New Braunfels Parks Foundation, is a non-profit organization whose members and supporters have already raised $150,000 in monetary and in-kind donations for the project.
“Everyone involved with this project is very excited that funds for construction of phase one have been secured,” said Audrea Gibson, New Braunfels Parks Foundation President and founder of New Braunfels Puppy Playland. “The dog park will be a designated area where canines, dog-owners and non-dog owners alike can exercise and have fun in an off-leash environment.”

Phase one of construction will include a number of traditional dog park elements including, installation of irrigation, sod, fencing, a drinking fountain for humans and dogs, a dog washing station, waste stations and parking.
“Phase two and phase three still need to be funded. Although we are ecstatic about this grant from the 4B Board, we will continue our fundraising efforts,” said Gibson.
The next fundraising event, the 4th Annual Doggie Dash, will be held on Saturday, March 29th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Cypress Bend Park.
