Fischer Park

Fischer Park is the newest addition to the New Braunfels Parks at 62 Acres.

Fischer Park is named after the Fischer family, whose homestead on the property dates back to the early 1940’s. The Fischer family used the land as a working ranch with heads of livestock.

In January 2007, the Fischer family sold 55.139 acres to the city of New Braunfels and gifted three acres to the New Braunfels PARKS Foundation for a total of 58 acres to be developed into a park. The New Braunfels Parks Foundation still holds the 3 acres in trust for the City of New Braunfels.

In December 2012, the New Braunfels Parks Foundation received a contribution from an anonymous donor in the amount of $50,000. The Parks Foundation used these funds towards the purchase of solar energy panels at Fischer Park. You can see the solar panels on top of the Hilltop Pavilion at Fischer Park and you can see the readouts at the Nature Education Center. In addition to energy savings, the solar panels will aid in educating children and adults alike on the benefits of clean energy and protecting our natural resources.

Fischer Park is open now open and is the largest park in the New Braunfels Park System! For more information about Fischer Park and all of its amenities please visit the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation website.
